Actinium-225 vs Lutetium-177 PSMA-617 plus SBRT
On January 16, 2026, UCLA Health announced the launch of the Phase 2 ANDROMEDA trial evaluating two PSMA-targeted radioligand therapies combined with stereotactic body radiotherapy in men with recurrent oligometastatic prostate cancer.
This is one of the first randomized studies comparing alpha-emitting and beta-emitting PSMA therapies and may help define optimal radioligand sequencing before androgen-deprivation therapy.
Lead-212 PSMA radioligand therapy
ARTBIO reported dosing of early patient cohorts in its first-in-human Phase 1 ARTISAN study evaluating AB001 in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer.
The trial introduces lead-212–based alpha radioligand therapy and will assess safety, biodistribution and early antitumor activity in both PSMA-naïve and previously treated patients.
Nucleus basalis of Meynert neuromodulation
Approval was granted in January 2026 to begin a Phase 1 human clinical trial evaluating intermittent deep brain stimulation of the nucleus basalis of Meynert in early-stage Alzheimer's disease.
This study represents a novel non-pharmacologic approach to Alzheimer's treatment, exploring whether targeted neuromodulation can stabilize or improve cognitive function.
Cadherin-17–targeting ADC
The first patient was dosed in a U.S. Phase I/II trial evaluating 7MW4911, a cadherin-17–targeting antibody–drug conjugate for advanced colorectal and gastrointestinal cancers.
This is the first human study of a CDH17-targeted ADC, a promising approach for tumors with high gastrointestinal specificity.
Novel oral degrader targeting kinesins
In January 2026, the FDA accepted the IND application for BBI-940, enabling initiation of a first-in-human Phase 1 trial in metastatic breast cancer.
BBI-940 is a novel oral degrader targeting kinesins required for tumor cell division in cancers driven by extrachromosomal DNA amplification.
